- I think that the colours work really well on my model and I love that the snow and limbs are a slightly fleshy colour, slightly resembling hair and giving it a human quality. It also makes his white teeth and hair pop out. I might re-adopt this colour scheme in my other gifs.
- Mechanically his arms and legs move very fluidly in addition to retaining their place when I move them. This will work well when I come to animate him.
- Making my 3D gif first was a good idea because it means that I can draw from it, when I go on to create my other gifs. I have been really struggling to envision my character from different angles. I couldn't work out what was wrong with the eyes and I can now see that I was't cropping the left hand one enough.
What challenges did I face?
- Making my man out of plasticine took a lot longer than I anticipated because I had to slowly build his body up around the wire frame. I am now worried that I am going to be too pushed for time (I only have two full days left)!!!
- Because his arms are quite thin the the plasticine keeps melting off them. To avoid this happening I am going to leave him in the snow for a while before I animate him so that the plasticine hardens.
- I am also concerned abut the fact that he doesn't stand on his feet but I don't want to have to photoshop out a stand in every frame. If I put him standing in snow I could try and use this to cover the stand!?
How am I going to move forward?
- I am going to leave him in the snow to harden, build a set out of snow and animate him. I quite like the idea of him wacking out some funky moves I think that it will work well to contrast his pissed off facial expression.
